Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees (ICAR)
is an independent information and research organisation based in the School of Social Science at City University, London.

ICAR encourages understanding, public debate and policy-making about asylum and refugees in the UK, grounded in accurate and academically-sourced information.

Funded principally by charitable trusts, ICAR undertakes externally funded research and consultancies.
 New report: Housing, New Migration and Community Relations
Recent research has shown strongly that access to social and privately rented housing, where most refugees, asylum seekers and new labour migrants are accommodated, is a critical social pressure point. This report brings together and reflects upon existing literature that makes links between housing, community relations and new migrants.
