Local experiences of migration
The Welcome Project is a partnership between Coventry City Council and Coventry Refugee Centre. The aim of the project is to facilitate the integration of newcomers into the neighbourhoods of Coventry and to learn lessons that can be applied in other parts of the country.
ICAR was commissioned to evaluate the project and conduct an exploratory consultation exercise that aims to find out more about the needs, concerns and experiences of refugees, asylum seekers, new migrants and members of the 'host community' in Coventry in relation to community relations issues and their information needs.
The findings from the consultation will be used to inform the strategies, initiatives and materials developed by the Welcome Project.
