About refugee research

Research is vital to gathering the information about refugees and asylum issues needed in policy-making, service development, advocacy, and media and public debates in the UK.

Research, therefore, is conducted and commissioned by a wide range of organisations and bodies to meet a variety of information needs. These pages provide some basic information about research on UK asylum and refugee issues:

  • A brief overview of who conducts research on these issues in the UK, why they do so and how they go about doing it.
  • Resources from ICAR's Making better use of data and information project
