About refugee research
Research is vital to gathering the information about refugees and asylum issues needed in policy-making, service development, advocacy, and media and public debates in the UK.
Research, therefore, is conducted and commissioned by a wide range of organisations and bodies to meet a variety of information needs. These pages provide some basic information about research on UK asylum and refugee issues:
- A brief overview of who conducts research on these issues in the UK, why they do so and how they go about doing it.
- Resources from ICAR's Making better use of data and information project
Publications
- Lea Esterhuizen (2004) Doing case studies for the refugee sector: A DIY handbook for agencies and practitioners , London: ICAR
