UNHCR has released its annual report Asylum Levels and Trends in Industrialized Countries, 2009

 

The European Commission’s ‘Clandestino’ research project has released its final report on Undocumented Migration: Counting the Uncountable. Data and Trends

 

Living in limbo: forced migrant destitution in Europe is a new report from the Jesuit Refugee Service.

 

New report from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC): Refugees and asylum seekers: a review from an equality and human rights perspective

 

At the end of the line: restoring the integrity of the UK’s asylum system is a new report from the Refugee Council, which “aims to provide a detailed overview of the human and financial costs of the current system and to propose policy solutions which are humane, efficient and effective.”

Calls for papers:

  • one day workshop on “the meaning and practice of immigration detention: perspectives from legal, political, and social theory” on May 21 organised by St Antony’s College, the Refugee Studies Centre, and COMPAS, the University of Oxford. Email Evelyne Massa for details.
  • Forced Migration Review special supplement on HIV/AIDS, security and conflict; and issue 36 which will include a feature section on the Democratic Republic of Congo/Great Lakes. Both to be published in October 2010.
